Community Guidelines
We believe in free speech, but we also believe in a respectful community. Here is how we keep the People's Parliament constructive.
1. Focus on Oyo
OyoTimes is a local platform. Your submission must be relevant to the people of Oyo Town and its environs. We discuss local politics, culture, infrastructure, and community events. Global news or unrelated topics will not be published.
2. Be Respectful
You can disagree with a policy, a person, or an idea, but you must do so respectfully.
- No Hate Speech: We have zero tolerance for attacks based on religion, ethnicity, gender, or disability.
- No Personal Insults: Attack the idea, not the person. Keep it intellectual, not physical.
3. Fact-Check Your Claims
If you are making a serious allegation (e.g., "This road contract was stolen"), you must provide proof or context. We do not publish rumors, unverified gossip, or fake news that could cause panic.
4. No Spam or Self-Promotion
The Community Voices section is for opinions and stories, not for selling products.
- If you want to advertise a business, please use our Advertising Section.
- Articles that are clearly just disguised ads will be rejected.
5. The Editorial Right
OyoTimes reserves the right to edit headlines for clarity, correct grammar, or reject submissions that violate these guidelines. We are not obligated to publish every submission we receive.
