1. Content and Intellectual Property

• Our Content: The unique design, logos, data models, and original editorial content created by OyoTimes are the property of Cortex Guild Ltd. and are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
• User-Generated Content: By submitting stories, comments, images, or business listings, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display that content on our website and social media channels. You represent that you own the rights to any media you upload.

2. User Conduct

When using our platform, you agree NOT to:

• Post content that is abusive, defamatory, hate speech, or incites violence.
• Submit false or misleading information regarding news, business listings, or event details.
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, scrape data, or interfere with the website’s security or infrastructure.

3. Civic Data & Intelligence Disclaimer (Market Pulse / Oyo-Meter)

OyoTimes provides civic data features, including but not limited to the Market Pulse and Oyo-Meter, to track local economic trends and public sentiment.

• Information Purposes Only: All data, prices, and metrics displayed in these sections are estimates gathered for general informational purposes.
• No Financial Advice: This data does not constitute financial, investment, or business advice. Cortex Guild Ltd. makes no warranties regarding the real-time accuracy of local market prices and shall not be held liable for any business decisions or losses resulting from the use of this data.

4. Directory & Events Disclaimer

OyoTimes provides a directory for local businesses and an event discovery platform.

• We are a venue only: We do not own, operate, or inspect the businesses or events listed on our site unless explicitly stated.
• No Endorsement: The presence of a business or event on OyoTimes does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of quality by Cortex.

5. General Payments (Ads & Promotion)

• Payment Processing: All payments for premium directory listings or banner ads are processed securely via Flutterwave. We do not store your card details on our servers.
• No Refunds: Fees paid for banner ads or sponsored posts are non-refundable once the service has been activated or the ad has been published.

6. Event Ticketing Terms (For Organizers)

If you use OyoTimes to create events and sell tickets, the following terms apply:

• Service Fees: OyoTimes charges a service fee of 6% + ₦100 per paid ticket sold. This fee is deducted automatically from your total revenue before payout. (Free events are free to list).
• Payouts: Organizers can request a withdrawal from their dashboard. Payouts are processed to your provided Nigerian bank account within 24-48 hours of the request. The minimum withdrawal amount is ₦1,000.
• Refunds & Cancellations: OyoTimes is a technology provider, not the event creator. If an event is cancelled, you (the Organizer) are responsible for refunding ticket holders. Cortex reserves the right to withhold payouts if there are significant reports of fraud.

7. “The Monarch’s Desk” Disclaimer

Content published under “The Monarch’s Desk” section is provided directly by the Palace of the Alaafin of Oyo or authorized representatives. OyoTimes serves strictly as a digital publisher for this content and does not alter the official statements provided.

8. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
